2009 - 2010
From Blueprints . . .
TCA concluded the 2009 school year on a high note, with all 47 seniors graduating and gaining acceptance to at least one college. Collectively, they amassed more than $2.2 million in scholarships — an average of more than $45,000 per graduate!
Building on the success of last year, the administration and support staff have been busily preparing the school for the first day on September 8, 2009. The computer lab in Room 110 has brand new desktop computers and we have a new portable classroom lab with 30 laptops. New efficient lights illuminate the gymnasium, new asphalt is on our roadways and parking areas, and new windows let in plenty of sun in the Lower School while saving on heating and cooling.
Several great new members of the teaching and support staff this year will greet students this year. Ms. Chantell Shalack joins us in the mathematics department, Ms. Lisa Weibalck in English, Ms. Dana Breuninger in Social Studies, and Ms. Clare Gould, who will teach biology and Spanish. We welcome Mr. Mark Eckel as Athletic Director, Ms. Mary Glass as Director of Admissions, along with Mr. John Shaffer, Director of Public Affairs & Development. Mr. Randall Breuninger assumes the duties of Technology Director and Mr. Bob Harris will continue as the Director of Outside Facilities. Finally, a Drama Director and Resource teacher will be joining the faculty as well.
The Student Council met early in the summer and adopted the theme for the 2009-10 school year: “Embracing Change . . . From Blueprints to Footprints.” As we set our sights on September, we look for our students to plan to seize the day, work hard to achieve, and reach for their dreams. And, in the process encourage others to do the same.
